Hi Munchworms!
This week’s topic for The Broke and the Bookish‘s Top Ten Tuesday is a throwback freebie! Since I had to rearrange my books a bit not that long ago, I decided I could use this topic to display some of the books I read during my teenage years.
When I say it like that, I really do sound old.. And then I realize that it’s been nearly ten years since I read those books and… Yup, I kind of feel like time flew by, haha!
As usual, every picture is the link to Goodreads so you can read the blurbs and add them to your TBR if you like!
What are some books your teenage self used to love? Or still loves?
Kathy
I still love Harry Potter and Shadowhunters! I do not think I will ever out grow those!

Same here! Definitely need to reread HP next year, it’s been a while and I’m missing Hogwarts like crazy.

Such a great list! It is amazing to think that so many amazing books were released over 10 years ago now!
I did a pretty similar topic for this weeks TTT! You can check out my Top Ten Books Published 10 Years Ago post HERE

I loved Harry Pottter when I was younger, although I’m pretty sure I read most of them before my teens. I’ve had many series that I loved in my teen years, too many to list really!

I really can’t remember what I read when I was a Teenager, my most memorable reads was Harry Potter series, and I also read the book by Danielle Steele about her sons biography.

That book was kinda heavy for my age, the other books I read when I was younger was just randoms I pulled off the shelf at my school library.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever read anything of Danielle Steele.. Even though I do see those books everywhere, I just never picked one up, haha.

In high school I definitely read a lot of Meg Cabot. I also enjoyed Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle, and probably so very many books that I cannot think of at this moment in time.

Ah love this! Eragon was one of my favorites when I was younger and Harry Potter will always be a favorite!

Nice post! Harry Potter is always great. I had a friend recommend Poison Study years ago, but I haven’t managed to read it yet. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

Honestly, I don’t remember an awful lot of Poison Study but it was years ago anyway.. I should definitely pick them up again someday. Especially since I’ve been seeing those series pop up once in a while lately.

Great list! I was (and still am) a huge Harry Potter fan during my teens, too, and being 25 now I’m really grateful that I got to grow up as part of that generation when the new books and films were coming out and it was fresh and exciting and we didn’t know how it was going to end. I miss that feeling sometimes!

Same here! I think growing up during that period definitely add it a lot to every Potterhead out there. In the end it isn’t “just a story” to us; in my case it’s half my childhood, haha.
Same! I don’t think I ever had the same anticipating feeling as I did when those books and movies were coming out and I’ll doubt I’ll ever have it with another series…

I remember the Night School books! I don’t think I kept up with that series, but I might have to go back now… Of course, I was well out of teenhood 10 years ago, but I read more YA as an adult than I ever did as an actual teen.

I know I didn’t keep up with those books.. I need to get back to them, get the rest of the series.. No clue when that’ll ever happen, but it’s definitely on my to do list!

i haven’t read any of these books… but maybe the reason is, that i wasn’t a huge reader back then… or maybe i just hadn’t such a great book community who could recommend all those books to me haha 😀

Haha, either of those or both of them! I definitely need to create a rereading-list one of these days.. Fallen has been made into a movie – I think it even came out very very recently in the US and I’m curious about it, haha.

I’ve been a Potterhead since when I first read it(I was 13).
I used to love TMI a couple of years ago…

Once a Potterhead; always a Potterhead!
“used to love”?! I still love them, haha!

It’s been a couple of years since I read TMI. I lost interest after the 3rd book… (I’m sorry! 😢)

Naw, that’s too bad! But it simply shows we all have our different taste in books. I’m not going to judge anyone for that, haha.

I read Fallen when I was sixteen and I remember really not loving it. I’d already started my blog by then so I’d written a pretty negative review on it, haha.

Goes to show that tastes differ, haha. I think I’m going to reread those though. Since the movie just came out in the US – according to the author’s Facebook page that’s been all over my feed recently – and I’m pretty curious about it.

AHHH Harry Potter for sure, but I also loved Kate Cann! I remember reading all of her books one summer!

I know I read more of her books, but got those from the library long before I started using Goodreads. I can’t even remember which ones I read, haha. Definitely was a huge fan of her books back then!

Great choices! I used to read HP a lot when I was in high school, but also Meg Cabot and Juliet Marillier.
