AUTUMN?! Why is it so hot right now.. – WWW: September 19th

WWW Wednesday

Okay, first off.. WHAT IS WITH THE SUDDEN HEAT? Autumn is right around the corner and then Belgian weather does THIS. I don’t want it. Go away. Give me all the fallen leaves and windy walks and.. no heat? Please? Rant over. *Let’s start over.*

Keeping in mind it was my birthday last weekend and I didn’t really expect to read an awful lot.. I can say my reading progress surprises even me! As for my birthday: We went to the Tim Burton expo in Genk, went “shopping” –more like, strolling about – in another city and then had dinner at an Indian restaurant to stuff our faces with spicy curry. It was awesome! And so delicious too. I might be getting addicted to garlic naan?

But enough about that – let’s see how much I read!

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

The Scarecrow Queen (The Sin Eater’s Daughter, #3)Catwoman: Soulstealer (DC Icons series)

Literally just started these last night and this morning! I want to tick off The Sin Eater’s Daughter from my ongoing series – which is why I immediately dived into the third book. Since I’m also keen on Maas’ writing.. I couldn’t not pick this up as well! I don’t know why I started two books at the same time. Blame the brain.

Finished reading

I Do Not Trust YouBatman: Nightwalker (DC Icons, #2)My Whole TruthThe Lion Tamer Who LostThe Sleeping Prince (The Sin Eater’s Daughter, #2)

I FINISHED A LOT AGAIN. Seriously! And! Look at that! I ACTUALLY READ THE LION TAMER WHO LOST THIS TIME. Which is a freaking miracle about telling you guys I would definitely read it next for.. what.. three weeks? Oops. But I did now!
Also, to anyone thinking about reading My Whole Truth, beware there are a LOT of triggers. Feel free to ask me whether or not certain triggers are present in this book should you consider reading it.

Reading next

Finally. Finally there are some other books here. But this part is more of a “I feel peer pressured into picking these up next.”-thing. I read a whole lot of TTT-posts yesterday and today, and now I’m.. well.. very curious to read the next couple of books? They’re not sequels though, so.. I don’t know..

Sawkill GirlsGirls of Paper and Fire

ARC overview

Let’s take a look at this because I REQUESTED BOOKS AND GOT ACCEPTED WHAT. I just had this feeling that having my NetGalley ratio at 100% wasn’t right? I know. Crazy. So I went on a requesting spree and pretty much got accepted for all the books I wanted to read.. Usually it’s only one or two out of a bunch and now..

Imber (Thanatos Trilogy #1)Oliver and Erica: When Friends become LoversThe Confectioner's Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles Book 1)One New York ChristmasThe Queen's WingEmpress of All Seasons

What do you think? Should I continue the sequels or succumb to peer pressure and read Girls of Paper and Fire and Sawkill Girls?
What do you think of my ARC haul?
What are YOU reading this week?!
[And don’t forget about OWNtober if you want a reading challenge!
Or, even better, keep an eye on my blog tomorrow for the announcement of a monstrous readalong!]

    1. Yay! Can’t wait! Yeah something like that, it’s ages away. I first heard about it in May and been waiting on it ever since. It’s one of my most anticipated releases this autumn. I really hope you like it 😊

    1. Oh, I definitely understand! My problem is simply how I’m already much warmer than usual due to my pregnancy and this weather is not helping things along at all, haha. Can’t wait for it to cool off so I can go out without drowning in my own sweat. 😂

    2. Ha, well done you! My sister-in-law was due in August two years ago so she suffered a LOT. Makes me that bit less frustrated about having to deal with the heat now since I’m not that for along yet.

  1. It IS way too hot here in France just as well – I don’t mind it too much though because I am not ready for fall and winter to come, at all hahaha 🙂
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts about these two reads, especially Girls of Paper and Fire! Happy reading! 😀

    1. Oh I’m so ready for that, haha. I get all annoyed with the hot weather because my body temperature’s higher than usual as it is and all this warmth is just making it worse. 😂 Pretty sure I haven’t stopped sweating for a few days now and it’s.. icky. 😂
      Thank you! ❤

    1. Good to know. I’ll have to check the triggers first since.. I’m on a “day to day” basis when it comes to my mental health right now, hah. Today my hormones are all over the place and the stupidest things make me cry and.. freak out so staying clear of triggering books today. :’)

  2. That’s quite the ARC haul haha, I’ve seen Empress of All Season here and there but I don’t know much about it. The weather is also annoyingly un-fall like here, it’s 30ºc today. But that’s to be expected in Portugal, the temperatures won’t really drop bellow 20º until mid-October at least.
I’m curious about Catwoman, because I heard Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are in it and Mass kept their canon relationship, so I’m curious about that, but at the same time they aren’t the main focus of the book and they’re really the only DC characters I care about.

    1. Right? I was finally getting through them and then went on NetGalley and got it all messed up.. Oops, haha. I don’t know that much about it either, but it does sound intriguing enough though.
Ugh – I wouldn’t be able to handle that heat. Being pregnant has my body temperature up as it is so the warmth is annoying the hell out of me right now, haha. Can’t wait for the fall-weather to arrive.
They’re definitely mentioned on the cover! I’m not that far in yet – only a couple of pages – so I’ll find out soon enough how they’re involved. 🙂
