Pretty funny that I decided to get back to blogging right before the end of 2021. But, I feel like that means it isn’t some ‘goal of 2022’-thing. Instead it’s me definitely trying to come back to my blog without using the start of a new year as a motivation to do so – if you know what I mean!

But, you’re not here for that! You’re here to see whether or not I actually read this week so let’s get into it!
As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Okay, so I know I said I’d pick up The Shadow in the Glass next – since that’s been a current read for a while – but I got entirely distracted by contemporary! As you’ll see in the next part… I just didn’t feel like more fantasy – pretty sure I’m too focused on getting my hands on Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco.
Either way I decided to only put the books here I’m actually reading (Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix) and planning on picking up again soon (The Shadow in the Glass).

I guess it’s safe to say I had a ton of fun reading last week! I’m convinced me going back to Books & Munches definitely has something to do with it, haha. Best thing is I enjoyed all of these books!
With the Fire on High was a very fun one – mostly because I understand the struggle of having a kid while wanting to do so much with your life – and A Very Large Expanse of Sea was such a fun read too, definitely taught me some things on top of it.
And then I turned into a Mermaid has been on my shelf for a while, mostly because I love Laura Steven’s books and I wanted to find out how her other work is like. Not really my thing, but it was a fun enough read for sure!
Let’s take a moment to applaud the fact that I actually finished Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix because it was hard! Not being I didn’t like it, on the contrary, but because I kept lurking at those contemporaries I also ended up reading, haha.

I’m not putting anything here since I’m going with mood reading for now. I’m pretty sure I won’t have started another book by next Wednesday either, so there’s that too. Let’s take a moment to laugh out loud with that sentence I put here last week because what a joke! I, like, picked up three more, haha!
So let’s just put a book here, because I secretly know what book I want to pick up next – whether or not I’ll actually do so is something we’ll find out next week!
How have you celebrated those last days of 2021 and what did you do at the start of 2022?
Safe to say my answer is ‘a lot of reading’ to both of those!
