FIRST + FINAL update of 2021

Since I went on a hiatus for over a year, it means I get to post the first and final reading update of 2021 in one go – which is kind of weird in a fun way, isn’t it?

WWW Wednesday

So, I’ve been gone for about a year and a half but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading! I’ve read some books like the A Darker Shade of Magic-trilogy – which I loved by the way.

I also read Tunnel of Bones and Bridge of Souls by the amazing Schwab, to name some other books. What I’m currently reading?

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

I’m currently ‘reading’ a lot of books, but that’s mainly because I keep starting books I’m in the mood for, then not being in that mood anymore and picking up something else.

Either way I decided to only put the books here I’m actually reading (Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix) and planning on picking up again soon (The Shadow in the Glass).

Finished reading

The last book I finished is one for the epic list of ‘favorites’ because I loved it so much. Kerri Maniscalco’s Kingdom of the Wicked had me hooked right from the start and I cannot wait until the second book arrives!.

Reading next

I’m not putting anything here since I’m going with mood reading for now. I’m pretty sure I won’t have started another book by next Wednesday either, so there’s that too.

What’s the last book you added to your favorites? What are you currently reading?

  1. I feel you so hard on “currently reading” books you aren’t in the mood for anymore. I swear, they sit there for months on Goodreads, taunting me.

I hope the books you finish are good and lookin forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve for 2022!

    1. I’m only putting the books on Goodreads if I’m sure I’ll be reading/finishing them soon, haha! Can’t risk neglecting all the books again. I don’t want to! I need reading in my life and having that ‘currently reading’-thing exploding with all the books doesn’t help. 😀

      Thank youu!

  2. Hopefully your hiatus has been good to you, happy to hear you’ve enjoyed some books!

I’m currently reading A season for second chances, my last favorite being Christmas in cockleberry Bay & One last stop.

    1. It’s had its ups and downs but I’m on the way up-up-up right now so let’s hope it stays that way!

A Season for Second Chances sounds like a fun read! And One Last Stop has been on my radar but I’ve yet to read Red, White and Royal Blue so.. Maybe I should do that first, right?

    2. I love the atmosphere of it, specially being from a coastal town myself. Honestly I still haven’t read Red, Wite & Royal blue either xD it’s up to you, really- they don’t have any relation together!

    3. I’m going to put it on ‘the list’, haha! I know they aren’t linked to one another but.. I OWN Red, White and Royal Blue so.. like.. I feel like I should at least read that one before buying another book by the same author? xD

    1. A lot of his books are definitely daunting especially the bigger ones. The stand is one of those daunting books. I’m read the unabridged edition so it’s even longer.

  3. Nice reading update!

Hmm…I think the last book I completed and added to my favorites list is Critical Role: Vox Machina: Kith and Kin by Marieke Nijkamp. Most of my reading the past month or so has been volumes of manga. I really want to be reading, I have so many books that I WANT to read, but I’m not really finding myself able to focus on reading, and it’s so annoyingly frustrating.

    1. I’ve seen Marieke Nijkamp pass by a couple of times the past year or so. I guess I should look into those books, hehe.

Well, it’ll come back! I know it will! This is coming from someone who didn’t pick up a single book in almost a year and then slowly found her way back so there’s always hope!

    2. I’ve read “This is Where it Ends” by Nijkamp as well (it’s about a school shooting, so it may not be for everyone), but I picked up Kith & Kin because I’m a huge Critical Role (D&D Actual Play Show) fan. Those are the only two Nijkamp books I’ve read. Also…a bit jealous that you’ve seen Marieke Nijkamp just passing by. That’s really cool.

Yeah, I know it’ll come back. My big problem is that now my bookcases are definitely overflowing because I keep buying books I know I want to read, but I’m not unhauling books. I don’t have the space to add another bookcase…at least not without overflowing into another room, and I’d like to not takeover our whole house with books. Aside from our D&D books, and soon to be our graphic novels, everything else is in the library portion of our master bedroom.
