DARKDAWN IS ON HOLD FOR NOW. ~ WWW: April 29th

WWW Wednesday

I’m tired. I’m so, so tired and.. not even physically but mentally. This whole lockdown-thing is really starting to take its toll on my mental health and it seems that no matter what I do, it isn’t getting any better. I’m still okay-ish most of the time, but there are these moments where I just.. cannot cope? I guess we all have moments like these lately and I hope you’re all doing okay.

One of my coping mechanisms is, of course, reading, so here we go.

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

Darkdawn (The Nevernight Chronicle, #3)The Raven and the Dove (The Raven and the Dove, #1)

I’ve barely picked up Darkdawn but that’s mainly due to my mental state right now. I want to enjoy this one and right now, reading is more of an escape. Darkdawn deserves more than that, so I’m guessing it’ll be stuck on my current reads for a bit.
As for The Raven and the Dove, I really liked it at first! But then one of the characters did something I couldn’t really.. compute.. I think? And that ruined it a bit. But I do like the overall story so we’ll see! I’m at 76% right now so I’m hoping to finish it for the O.W.L.s and then count it as a prompt that only fits it for like 3% but shhh.

Finished reading

Dawn till Dusk (Genesis Crystal Saga #1)Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters, #1)A Girl Like Her (Ravenswood, #1)

I finished Dawn Till Dusk – enjoyed that one! – and devoured Get a Life, Chloe Brown and A Girl Like Her so look out for those three reviews!

Reading next

I’m planning on finishing my current reads and then dive into my May reading, which you’ll read all about in Friday’s post!

  1. I think we’re all struggling to some extent right now, not that that helps you at all. Just try your best to hang in there. Lean on your partner and hug your little one, it’ll help.

Glad to hear you’ve been enjoying what you’re reading though.

  2. Your ARC overview list is getting smaller! Well done! and yes totally understand the need for escapism right now. Certain books covers that but a few just needs more. I fond myself needing romance books which is not something I normally go for. But positive stories is needed these days. Happy reading!

  3. I’m sorry you don’t feel so well. I wish I could say something that will cheer you up. Well, around here it seems that everything goes back to normal to an extent in May. Maybe it will get better in Belgium now too?
I’m acutally so curious about your Of Silver and Shadows arc. I’ve heard different things from different people and am curious how you will like it. Also, did your arc collection get bigger again? 😀

    1. They’re slowly starting the “exit strategy” as they’re putting it, but so much depends on how people act and abide by the rules.. I’m pretty certain things will take a a long time before getting back to normal..
Ha, I really need to read that one! I put it on my posting schedule for end of May so I’ll read it soonish?
Uh, yes. Yes, it did. It’s HORRIBLE. I don’t request anything anymore but I still have some “open” requests on Netgalley and it seems they’re slowly getting approved.. 😛
