WINNING AT THE ALLNIGHTER! ~ WWW: April 15th

WWW Wednesday

This weekend, G hosted a second magical allnighter to read all the books for our O.W.L.s and.. since the previous one really failed [I only read one hour] I grabbed the chance to prove myself! That, and I was in a huge reading mood so I definitely had to take advantage of that. As such, I read a lot!

Let’s see what books I read, am reading and want to read next.

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Current read

Hungry Hearts: 13 Tales of Food & LoveDawn till Dusk (Genesis Crystal Saga #1)

Okay! I’m halfway through my second anthology of the month, Hungry Hearts, which I’m counting towards my “book outside of favorite genre” for two reasons: Fantasy will always be my number one. Secondly.. I usually don’t read anthologies at all, haha.
My second read it Dawn Till Dusk by Tyffany Hackett and Becky Moynihan. So far, it’s amazing? There’s Fae, there’s shifters, there’s dragons and.. yup. I’m ready to dive into this one! I’m only about a fifth in so there’s lots of story to cover yet. I am readyyyyyy.

Finished reading

House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City, #1)Meet Cute: Some People Are Destined to MeetThings My Son Needs to Know About The World
Only the OceanSalty, Bitter, SweetDubbelleven

See this? See this?! I’m so proud! I finished House of Earth and Blood – amazing, I tell you -, Meet Cute, Things My Son Needs to Know about the World, Salty, Bitter, Sweet and Dubbelleven.
Things My Son Needs to Know about the World
was a quick and fun read, but held so much truth at the same time. My review is coming! Salty, Bitter, Sweet is an eARC I read and.. I’m still torn about that one. We’ll see when my review pops up? As for Dubbelleven, a Dutch thriller, I flew through that one. Chinouk’s writing is second to none and it grabs you easily. The story itself was predictable, but I didn’t mind since I really enjoyed it anyway.
And then there’s Only the Ocean. The book I once predicted I would only rate one star / cupcake and.. Guess what? I didn’t even read more than eight pages before deciding to throw it on the DNF-pile! Eight pages! That’s a new record for me, if I’m being honest. The writing simply didn’t click. The sentences were way too long and the accents of the characters were also written that way. It was.. not pleasant to read.

Reading next

Okay, so! The moment I finish Hungry Hearts, that’s my O.W.L.s done! Which means I can read whatever I want for the rest of the month, sort of. It’s still ContemporApril as well but.. If you take a look at the ‘ARC’s overview’, you’ll know what I have to read and focus a bit more on..
