NEW EARC APPROVALS ~ Sharing my recent NetGalley-wins!

Spotlight

I’m back with this post sooner than I thought I’d be! I wasn’t planning on making a post for only one book, but then my wish for one of these got granted [spoiler: Conventionally Yours!] and I couldn’t help myself. I had to share! So.. here are the two books I got approved for / my wish got granted for!

As always, covers link back to the Goodreads-page, so feel free to check them out!

Conventionally Yours (True Colors, #1)

TITLE: Conventionally Yours
AUTHOR: Annabeth Albert

RELEASED: June 2, 2020
PUBLISHER: Sourcebooks Casablanca

GENRE: YA Contemporary, LGBTQIA+

TRIGGERS: ?
REPS: Queer!

SYNOPSIS
When two “big name fans” go head-to-head at a convention, love isn’t the only thing at stake.

Charming, charismatic, and effortlessly popular, Conrad Stewart seems to have it all…but in reality, he’s scrambling to keep his life from tumbling out of control.

Brilliant, guarded, and endlessly driven, Alden Roth may as well be the poster boy for perfection…but even he can’t help but feel a little broken inside.

When these mortal enemies are stuck together on a cross-country road trip to the biggest fan convention of their lives, their infamous rivalry takes a backseat as an unexpected connection is forged. Yet each has a reason why they have to win the upcoming Odyssey gaming tournament and neither is willing to let emotion get in the way―even if it means giving up their one chance at something truly magical.

As Del watches the van leave for England, she suddenly realises exactly what will make her happier…a new life in France – without Ollie.

Now alone, all Del has is a crumbling farmhouse, a mortgage to pay and a few lavender plants. What on earth is she going to do? Discovering an old recipe book at the market run by the rather attractive Fabian, Del starts to bake. But can her new-found passion really help her let go of the past and lead to true happiness?

I wished for Conventionally Yours because it’s.. queer, for starters. But it also appears to be set at a convention – which this girl loves – and the synopsis is obviously giving all the enemies-to-friends/lovers vibe. Another thing I’m always down for! I’m really, really hoping this will end up being a five-cupcake read!

Escape to the Farmhouse on the other hand, is something completely different. Whenever spring / summer comes around, I feel myself gravitating towards lighter, fluffier and more romantic reads. Reading the synopsis of this one.. I was intrigued. And then I got approved! So here we are!

Two very different books, but I do hope to enjoy both of them. [Why else would I have wanted to read them i the first place, right?]
