I’m still cruising between contemporary and fantasy – but mostly contemporary. Which means it’s a perfect time to announce next month’s challenge! And basically allow my brain to go all “no” to contemporary once April starts, probably. In any case.. April is all about contemporary books! Read one, read them all – it doesn’t matter! As long as you read one contemporary, you’re participating in this challenge and succeeding too!

Important
It isn’t necessary to dedicate the whole month to my challenges. I know not everyone likes reading one genre all the time, so feel free to switch as you usually do! Reading only one novel that fits the time is plenty to be able to commit to this challenge! It’s a low pressure reading challenge after all.

Haha. Contemporary is so easy to read though – at least most of the time. I feel like if I focus on fantasy, I rarely get over three books read each month. Whereas contemporary is an easy 5+ books!

I think I’ll be reading at least one contemporary next month…maybe. My reading plans have been completely changed because of me wanting to focus more on promoting authors with spring releases because of the whole COVID-19 issue shutting down pretty much all events.

Ugh, true! I was thinking about trying to do something for those authors as well but I simply have no clue how to go about it, y’know? Especially since I don’t even know if I’ll have the TIME to do the promoting on my blog / social media. As long as daycare isn’t shut down, I should be able to do it but once that changes.. I have no clue how much help I’ll be to anyone really.

Yeah, I’ve been putting out tweets and sharing my blog post where I offer up my blog as a place to signal boost, but haven’t had a single nibble on it. I think my blog is just too small and my social media reach is too limited for me to be much help. I want to help, but I’m feeling a bit useless over here.

Aw boo. I can see how it sucks wanting to help and then ending up feeling like you’re not good enough to. Maybe it simply disappears in the masses. If you know any authors / debut authors, it might be worth it reaching out to them personally? Or even asking if they have any writing friends they know might need the extra exposure? Maybe taking a more personal route will have a bigger success..

I’ve posted in a couple threads of people gathering info for people willing to help and signal boost, so I’ll see what happens. But I’ll also see about reaching out to a few new and upcoming release authors too. Thanks for the idea.
