Even though I’m already stretching myself thin with reading goals this year – especially combined with all the changes happening and such – I couldn’t resist this amazing challenge! Since I always try reading more diversely and give minorities a bigger voice, I couldn’t pass up on this one even if I tried. I’m not sure yet how much I’ll be able to read, so I’m simply going to try and get as far as I can get, which means the first step is to read ten books so I can get the Philippine tarsier. I’ll be updating all the books that fit the challenge to my #YARC2019-shelf on Goodreads!
As you might discover, there are already two books on there so I’m off to a good start and have already earned the badge, but still! At least eight more to go if I want another badge!

I’m also going for the tarsier! So far I’ve read 4/10 books so I’m thinking I might surpass that goal which is exciting! AVLEOS was also on my tbr and I finished it last week and liked it a lot, so I hope you enjoy it too!

I commend the wonderful topic of the reading challenge.
But half the list belongs to Mafi and two from Han.
Where are the other authors like Arundhati Roy, Roshni Chokshi, Padma Venkatrama, Sheba Karim, Shyam Selvadurai, Aisha Sayeed, Rahul Kanakia, etc.?

I only used books I already own for this TBR and haven’t read yet. I read Roshni Chokshi’s The Gilded Wolves in 2018 already so that’s why that one is missing. I’ll definitely add more to the list as I go this year, but want to focus on my owned books first. 🙂

I read this post yesterday and RACED to sign up! This challenge is so perfect for me, and I “discovered” it synchronously: last week I had read JUKAI and KAGE by Tara A. Devlin, which are Japanese urban fantasy/mythology/horror, fantastic novels! and THE DECAGON HOUSE MURDERS by Yukio Ayatsuji, which is a contemporary (1990’s) mystery set on an uninhabited Japanese island, styled in the methods of Golden Age mysteries, also a fantastic read. This week I am reading ANOTHER by Yukio Ayatsuji (what an author!), a Japanese Supernatural or Paranormal Horror; and THE THREE-BODY PROBLEM by Cixin Liu! (Chinese SF). I have a couple more by Cixin Liu and plan to get the second and third in THE THREE-BODY TRILOGY, also two collections of Chinese SF edited by the inimitable Ken Liu; INVISIBLE PLANETS, and BROKEN STARS.
