MONTHLY READING CHALLENGES – Overview

Reading Challenge

Do you like planning in advance as much as I do? Do you like monthly reading challenges? Or, more precisely, do you like my monthly reading challenges? Are you curious to see whether I’ll be changing things up in 2019? I hope the answer to all these questions is yes because, if so, you’re in for a treat with this post!

I have already planned out all my monthly reading challenges. Most of them are the same as this year, but I’ve made some changes as well. Because of this, I thought it would be a good thing to share an overview with all of you – simply so you don’t have to wait until halfway through the month to see what next month will be all about. That and.. Well.. Destiny and I are starting our own Goodreads-group to get more people to join in and participate, to make it more of a social thing than it has been so far! Interested? Head on over to Devour Your TBR on Goodreads and join us there!

Now, let’s take a look at the new banners I made! I’ll give a short explanation with each challenge and each banner links to the challenge-page.

January

The TBR jar is back! We’re filling it, once again, with the books we really wanted to read in 2018 but didn’t! The official announcement post for this one is already up, so be sure to check it out.

February

All about fantasy books!

March

Horror, thriller, suspense – anything you find monstrous!

April

Contemporary is the April-theme!

May

I couldn’t change up this one – we all need some pure mood-reading once in a while!

June

Rereading? Yup! June’s the month!

July

Science-fiction lovers will definitely like this one!

August

How about catching up on books you put on previous TBR’s but haven’t read yet?!

September

We’re focusing on sequels of series we started before but never continued / finished!

October

Reading your own books, not ARC’s or eBooks but the physical ones!

November

Looking back at our 2019 goals and trying to catch up on those!

December

All the diverse books!

Standaard

What do you think? Are these up your alley? Which ones are you most excited about? Maybe there’s one you don’t like at all and would change if you were me?
Are there any other monthly challenges you’d like to see?
Are you going to join our Goodreads-group?!

  1. I love your challenges so much and these images look so great, too! 🙂 As you know, I’m not much of a challenge kind of person, but I wish you all the best of luck for all of these and admire you so much for organizing these every time ❤

  2. These are excellent challenges! I especially like the genre-themed ones as lately I’ve been stuck reading mostly mysteries and thrillers. I have a ton of horror and fantasy just sitting there, being lonely. 😀

    1. Ha, thank you!
Oh, I feel you. I’ve been reading way too much romance and contemporary so I kind of need to get my butt onto some fantasy? With the Short-a-thon it doesn’t seem to happen though.. Most of my short books are romance / contemporary once more. 😛
