I’ve cleared out some ARC’s during ARCAugust, I’m trying to tackle some of my sequels during Sequel September.. In October, it’s time to simply focus on my own books, which means.. OWNtober is back, people!
Pretty sure this is one of my favorite monthly challenges so far, simply because you get to read whatever you want, as long as you already own the book prior October!
Rules
◊ Post a blog post / tweet / whatever saying you’ll be joining me in my battle against the ever-growing physical TBR-piles and ping back to this post.
◊ Share your list of all the books you own and then decide which ones you’re going to read first.
If you can’t figure out a sequence for yourself, you can always start a poll and let others help you out!
◊ If you’re sharing your updates on social media, use #OWNtober so we can follow up on each other!
Important
It isn’t necessary to dedicate the whole month to my monthly challenges.
Our TBR’s are all through the roof so it can already be a challenge to read only one or two books that fit this month’s challenge. You can still join then! The more the merrier!
Remember, it doesn’t matter how much you read. As long as you have fun reading.
And as long as we can tackle our TBR’s, bit by bit.

YOU?
I’m taking part over on Youtube, here’s my TBR video: https://youtu.be/q6QgbMBTOiE
I need a push to read some of my owned books and not just keep reading library books while letting the things I buy stack up!

Awesome!
Haha; I’m actually lucky there are no libraries with decent English sections around or I’d have that problem as well. My main problem is.. my book buying.. 😀
Good luck!

I love this idea. I have so many books I’ve owned for awhile that would be great October reads, so I’m going to try and read as many as I can.

Assuming that I read two books a week, I’m only planning on reading four books that I already own in October (assuming that you count a book I preordered and paid for over a month ago). Maybe five. I really need to read Fawkes before the 5th of November. Don’t know where I’m going to fit that in.
I try to review one ARC/New release a week, so that leaves less room for books I already own. But this is a good idea!

I will *sort of* participate. I am not going to list my whole physical TBR, as I would still be here next week 😉 , but I will try and read lots of owned books next month! I will post my October TBR soon 🙂

Yay! 😀 Haha, you’re not exactly obliged to add the whole physical TBR but I’ve noticed people who actually found it was a fun thing to do. 😛 [And then there’s me who keeps a list anyway so it’s only a matter of copy/pasting the thing. :’) ]
Curious to see what books are on there! 😀

Oh, I SO need this!!! My 12-year old is constantly yelling at me over bring in new books when I already have so many unread … and he doesn’t even know that my hording of ebooks is even worse 🙄 I’ll start working on a potential plan of attack & post tomorrow!

Hahaha! If your 12-year old is on your case, you definitely have to do something about it! [Although I have to say, my boyfriend has been on my case for a year now and my TBR has only gotten more out of control.. :’)]
Good luck! 😀

I’m in a really bad reading slump right now, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to participate, but I SHALL TRY! My TBR is insane and it needs to chill. 😂

I love this idea! Especially since I’ve been failing hardcore at reading stuff I already own his year. That list is over 100 books long and has it’s own shelf on GoodReads. I’ll try to join if I can!

Haha, I’m the same! I constantly read new releases and ARC’s instead of my older books. It’s horrible!
Please do! The more the merrier! 😀

I think I might join in on on October’s challenges as well. I haven’t really done so good on this months challenge so far.

Even if you’ve read one sequel, you’ve done good, Misty! 🙂 Owntober is definitely an “easier” one in a lot of ways, hah. 🙂

So far that’s all I’ve read is one. I just got my copy of Escaping from Houdini in the mail so as soon as I finish reading Misery I will be immediately jumping into that one.

Still good! Ooh, jealous! I don’t think mine has even shipped yet.. Amazon really does suck when it comes to pre-orders. 😦

I got mine on the day which was a surprise because I was expecting it to come today. I ordered mine from amazon.

I’m starting to think Amazon hates Belgium, hah.

Feel free to join in! I haven’t. I’m thinking about looking into it or simply adding people’s TBR’s / sign-ups to this post as they pop up though. I’ll have to figure something out soon, haha.

This sounds great. I’m joining. I have shelves upon shelves waiting and I’m never getting through these 40+ arcs anytime soon! Lol

Oh boy, that’s a lot of ARC’s haha! I managed to get my NG ratio to 100% before messing it up again but hey.. At least it lasted for about two hours. 😂

You always have the best monthly challenges 😀 I’ve only read one sequel in September so far, but I really should read more of my owned books, especially physical books.

Aawh, thank you! ❤
Even reading one sequel is already plenty to say you've nailed the challenge though. 😉
Same here. Pretty sure my owned TBR is nearing 200 right now and.. well.. I need to fix it.. just a little bit. 😂

This sounds like a fun challenge! I don’t have that many owned books that I haven’t read just yet, compared to other book bloggers, but I still have like, 7 maybe I need to get through haha 🙂 Best of luck and happy reading!! 😀

Haha, you should be happy you can keep it under control. Although it’s also fun to be able to stare at all the unread books to pick your next read, at least you don’t have the pressure of drowning in the unread books. 😛
[I’m probably going to unhaul some books with the move coming up so I’ll keep you posted on that should you be interested in any of them. 😉 Especially with your birthday coming up next month and all. :D]

Okay but how do you remember when my birthday is ahhhhhhhhh that’s the sweetest thing ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ Also aerm, yes, keep me updated, I'd be curious to see the mountain of books haha 😀
AND THIS REMINDS ME, you mentioned a ROOM for your books in your new house, PLEASE PLEASE you will HAVE to share pictures with me, that's a dream hahahaha 😀 ❤

Becaaaause it’s exactly a month after mine and I have a secret blogger birthday calendar and stuff like that. 😂😂
I already know for sure I’m going to unhaul Adam Silvera’s History Is All You Left Me and some Katie Fforde books. Don’t know the rest off the top of my head, haha. I only cleared out two shelves so far. 😂
YESYESYES. I WILL. Someone asked me for a bookshelf tour yesterday but I’m going to wait until my LIBRARY [this sounds so cool] is all finished so I can do a library tour!! ❤

You’re AMAZING, I admire you SO much ahah, seriously ❤
And ohh why are you unhauling this Adam Silvera book? Oh damn, while typing this I think I remember that you did not enjoy it that much, did you?
How many shelves do you have 😂😂😂
YES YES I can't wait to see your gorgeous LIBRARY set up and everything ❤ ❤

Hahaha! I’m simply awful with dates and couldn’t handle it should I forget someone’s birthday 😂
Nope, that’s the one I didn’t enjoy at all but hopefully someone else will. I’d rather it be in the hands of someone who’ll love it than.. be stuck on my shelves to never be read again. 😂
Uuh. Four bookcases so.. idk how many shelves exactly. [I’m talking actual SHELVES because I don’t have enough boxes to clear a whole case yet.. Oops..] 😂😂
ME NEITHER. I still have to find the perfect reading couch / sofa / SOMETHING before we move too. 😂

OH I understand, it’s better to keep the books you really loved on your shelves for sure 😀 ❤
I'm…….. well, wow, I can't wait to see your pictures of your future library with all of these books haha 😀
LikeLiked by 1 person
Exactly! And that way I’ll have the best excuse ever to buy more because.. I’ll actually have space for them? 😀
I honestly can’t wait to see it for myself either. I’ll probably be well pregnant by then but no one will be able to stop me from decorating my library!

YES, that will be the best excuse. ALL THE BOOKS. 😀
