Wrap-up & Book Haul: [Sci-Fi] July

Wrap-up

House-hunting, melting in the sun – and in the shadow -, going to London, more house-hunting, even more house-hunting, trying to catch up on my blog.. Yup, it’s been quite the month for me! Of course, reading-wise it means I’ve had less time. I knew it up front, but you always keep hoping you’ll have more time to read than you anticipated, right? Anyway! The last month I read this “little”, was March. I read equally as many books but less pages. Oh well! Let’s see what I’ve been up to, huh?!
Oh, and my YALC haul is included in this post as well.. It’s huge – just saying.

Told you.. I bought a whole lot of books.. But there were deals! Like three books for £10 – I couldn’t resist! And now I’m 200% sure my boyfriend will kill me if I have the guts to buy even one more book this year. Honestly, even I’m convinced I’m going way overboard with my book-buying in 2018…

MY GIGANTIC YALC HAUL – PART TWO: ARC’S

BOOKS I BOUGHT – NOT AT YALC

The Truth About AliceMore Happy Than NotWorld After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2)

Last month I mentioned a book buying ban.. Let’s just conclude I ignored the ban, did my own thing and am now on a “only buy books if you want to risk death by boyfriend”-kind of thing, haha. No, seriously, I have to stop buying books. The only exception next month is all the book subscription boxes I ordered to celebrate my car loan being paid off.

How was your month? What was the best and worst book you read?
Have you gone to a book convention yet? How many books did you buy?

  1. Alice Oseman is one of my favorite authors so I got really excited when I noticed I Was Born For This in your list of read books! I had a great month! The best book I read was Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann! It’s truly amazing and I can’t recommend it enough.

  2. Ah, but who could resist a good deal like that? Imagine what he’d say if you bought all of them on full price! 😀
    Hope you’ll enjoy them all!

  3. So, I swore I had already commented on this and liked it, but apparently I did neither, so uh… I guess I’m losing it even more than normal? But what did you think of Alice? Have we already discussed it? Omg it’s 2:20am right now and I’m super tired so if I just forgot, please don’t hate me lmaooo

  5. It sounds like you had such a busy month, Kathy – I hope that the house-hunting is going well? ❤
It also sounds like you had such a great time at YALC, what an incredible haul! I'm spotting Starry Eyes, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on that one, I really want to read it! I'm also seeing Girls of Paper and Fire and ahhhhhhhh that one sounds very, very cool, I can't wait to read it and can't wait to hear what you think of it 😀
Have a wonderful August, and happy reading! ❤

  7. I was there at YALC and came back with 28 new books, none of which are the same as yours. However after being in the Holly Bourne panel, I wish I’d picked up ‘Are We Lemmings and Snowflakes’ because it sounds like a Holly Bourne book I would probably like. I hope you enjoy Fragments to the Lost when you get around to reading it. It reminds me of the Graces by Laure Eve in that it is slow to get going but the mystery keeps you reading and then the last third is a huge whirlwind.

  8. Nothing wrong with a good book haul, sometimes it motivates you to read more. And how can you walk past the brightly coloured covers when they are calling your name?! Keep shopping I say and tell your boyfriend it could be worse, you could be buying handbags! 😊
