Time for some CONFESSIONS ON BOOKS – but not really.

Bookish Owlette tagged me for this but I don’t know whether I should like the title of this tag or not. Book Blogger Confessions Tag sounds like something to with a lot of shame and embarrassment, right? Or is that just me? Could be. Let’s find out? I guess? [I’m so full of enthusiasm right now. You can tell, right?!]

THE QUESTIONS
>> WHICH BOOK, MOST RECENTLY, DID YOU NOT FINISH?
Editing Emma by Chloe Seager. I simply did not like the tone of voice the MC was rocking at all. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get over it so I just threw it aside and never looked back.

>> WHICH BOOK IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?
I honestly don’t really have guilty pleasures when it comes to books? I’m not ashamed of anything I read – although occasionally I have this tendency to hide when I’m reading smut, haha.

>> WHICH BOOK DO YOU LOVE TO HATE?
I never love hating on a book? Simply because that’s so hurtful towards the author, who invested tons of their time in those pages. Okay, sure, sometimes books are really problematic and they deserve the hate they get, but I don’t tend to participate in things like that. The last book I didn’t really like – that’s loved by many – is History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera. That’s one I really, really didn’t like while I expected to love it so that was disappointing.

>> WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU THROW INTO THE SEA?
Eh, none. There’s always someone out there who’d love to read a certain book so why not simply gift it to them instead of being disrespectful and throwing it in the ocean?

>> WHICH BOOK HAVE YOU READ THE MOST?
Harry Potter without a doubt, but I guess that’s a standard answer, no? Apart from that, I never really reread any books. I am, however, proud to say I reread Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Leah on the Offbeat and 180 Seconds this year!

>> WHICH BOOK WOULD YOU HATE TO RECEIVE AS A PRESENT?
Non-fiction. That’s so not my thing, unless it’s a subject I’m interested in but even then..

>> WHICH BOOK COULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
I AM NOT ANSWERING THIS TORTURE. I need all my books. Books are a part of me. I’m a part of books. Let me keep my books.

>> WHICH BOOK MADE YOU THE ANGRIEST?
Hm. Have I ever gotten really angry because of a book? Okay, I might’ve gotten a little angry while reading The Trans Generation, simply because I never realized how many aspects can influence someone’s being, doubts and self-worth when you’re struggling with your identity. So I was more mad at myself than anything else, really.

>> WHICH BOOK MADE YOU CRY THE MOST?
180 Seconds. No doubt about that. I ugly-cried the first time, and I did it again the second time around.

>> WHICH BOOK COVER DO YOU HATE THE MOST?
There isn’t one in particular, but it’s not a secret how I loathe actual real people on covers. I’ve seen enough six-packs and eight-packs to last me a lifetime by now. You simply cannot go into a press shop without half naked guys being thrown at you when you’re in Belgium.

I definitely think the title of this tag should be revised. It’s more of a book confessions tag than a book blogger confessions tag, isn’t it? Oh well. Maybe I’m simply in a whining mood today – ignore me.
