Growing Self Blogger Award

Tag - Award

Have you noticed? This is me trying to tackle the huge pile of awards and tags that have been floating around in my drafts. Although this one in particular definitely feels special to me. Want to know why? Of course you do!

Here is how I got tagged by Chizurue:

“Kathy is already well-known in the book blog-verse and her munches are well-loved by all. Though according to her, and apparently this is a secret (I’m terrible at keeping them), it also gives her an excuse to just eat all the delicious food she features! I really admire her consistency in posting and spot-on review of books. She was also very kind to give me a bit of advice about finding my style in my book blogging and her tiny tip in creating graphics of my own.”

I was baffled, in awe and felt so grateful for this so thank you, for making my blog possible because where would we be without our followers? And especially thank you all for feeding me, because, you know, that’s what you’re pretty much doing. [Especially thank you to those who made me read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda so I could discover Oreo truffles. I’ve made them over five times now!]

THE NOMINEES

If I mention you, you are tagged. No escaping it whatsoever – just saying.

My first nominee, without a doubt, is Destiny. That girl’s always there for everyone – like always. Sure, she goes to sleep the second I arrive at work and her day has barely started when I go to bed but still… She manages to support me an awful lot and I’m ridiculously grateful to have met her. I know she supports so many others as well which means she deserves to be tagged over and over for this.
She also tries to give a bigger and louder voice to all the diverse books out there, which is another huge reason why she deserves this. She isn’t afraid to give her honest opinion – on both books and life in general – which is pretty darn rare in my life.

Alex is one of the first people I met in the book community and we’re still sticking together. She’s always there whenever I want to shout, cry or just rant about anything. She knows how to support me, how to support others and she doesn’t back off when it comes to voicing her opinion either. She, and Destiny as well, pointed out to me how important it is to value self-care. And, girl, I seriously hope we get to meet up someday!

Andie is someone I met only recently compared to Destiny and Alex but we’ve had some fun conversations already. Even though she’s… well.. six years minus one day younger than I am – her birthday is September 14th will mine is 15th; I laughed so hard when discovering that – I still feel like I connect with her on a level I sometimes can’t with others? This is definitely weird but I value it! A lot! The book rants, delivery guy rants and rants about missing an edit-button on Twitter… Yup – our kind of conversations!

My last two nominees are two people who are pretty much swamped in tags and awards – I know you are; don’t even try to deny it! – but I just wanted to mention them as well. Lu and Mikaela are people who absolutely love sharing their rants, lists and opinions on whatever. Their posts are always helpful in some way – if they don’t sound ridiculously familiar, they have some tips and tricks to help you out or they simply put a smile on your face. All those things are worth tons as a blogger which is why they definitely deserve to be on here as well.
