Hi Munchworms!
I know it’s been a while since I did a tag – mainly because I just stopped doing the standard ones – but I could hardly pass up on a tag reviewing 2017!
Lovely Destiny @ Howling Libraries tagged me for this one. Definitely go and check her out! If not for her amazing posts, then for her awesome personality!
1. FIRST EVER FEMALE DOCTOR WHO
(FAVORITE FEMALE PROTAGONIST)
I’m going with the first MC popping up in my head, being Alosa! She’s bad-ass, she has sass, she’s amazing.
2. GCC CUTS TIES WITH QATAR
(AN AUTHOR YOU CUT TIES WITH)
Oh, I hate this one. Mainly because I just don’t feel like advertising anything about it and giving this particular author the spotlight, yet again.
Anyway. Let’s just go with an author that apparently has no respect whatsoever for bloggers, organizes “tours” for her book – but not really. She just really wants you to post about her book on a specific day – and generally lives to promote herself, no matter what.
Honestly, when I first got into contact with her, I was new to everything to do with authors and their requests and she was able to take advantage of that. It was only afterwards that I read – in a Facebook-group – that she does things… anything but properly. Ever since, I just stopped mentioning her book, stopped following her.
3. LA LA LAND OSCAR MIX-UP
(A BOOK THAT SURPRISED YOU)
Without a doubt. I’ve always avoided scifi. Movies, books – anything really. I simply didn’t like it. But the hype surrounding Illuminae got to me. Even though it’s scifi, I just wanted to see every single page of that unique format for myself. I bought Gemina soon after and now even pre-ordered Obsidio, haha!
4. HURRICANES AND EARTHQUAKES
(A BOOK THAT ROCKED YOUR WORLD)
Picking only one for this is hell, but I did it! Queens of Geek was one of the only books I read in one sitting. I rarely do that so… Yup.
Can I just mention Warcross and A Court of Mist and Fury as well?
5. LOUVRE ABU DHABI
(FAVORITE BOOK COVER ART)
6. DA VINCI’S SALVATOR MUNDI SELLS FOR $450MIL
(A TAKE-MY-MONEY BOOK)
Picture found on Google
Sarah J. Maas without a doubt. I only discovered her writing in 2017 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I haven’t read the entire Throne of Glass-series yet, but I’m already planning on pre-ordering the next book.
Also Marie Lu. I have yet to get my hands on her pre-Warcross novels but I’m definitely going to!
7. TOTAL ECLIPSE
(A SEQUEL THAT OVERSHADOWS THE FIRST BOOK)
8. MUSLIM BAN
(FAVORITE DIVERSE READ)
Too many! Seriously! But… Let’s just mention Queen of Geeks twice.
9. ITALY DOESN’T QUALIFY FOR WORLD CUP
(MOST DISAPPOINTING BOOK)
This was a Christmas-read that really didn’t feel like a Christmas-read…
10. PRINCE HARRY ENGAGED
(FAVORITE SHIP)
Feyre and Rhysand – standard answer but it’s true.
Simply leaving the picture Destiny used here because it’s perfecttt!
11. STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI
(MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK)
For this I’m just going to point you toward my post with all the sequels I want to get my hands on as soon as possible, ha! My heart can’t handle picking only one book, okay?!
Sorry you had a bad experience with an author. That does not sound fun. Otherwise it seems like you had a wonderful 2017. Queens of Geek was one of my favorite books too. So much geeky cuteness.

I guess it’s bound to happen once in a while, even though it’s a shame every single time.
I definitely did! And yes! I need more books like that, haha. It felt so unique, being set at a convention.

I have read a couple other books set at a Con, and I love feeling like I’m at a Con again.

I can imagine! I have only been to one Con a couple of times but the one described in that book sounds much more awesome, ha.

I have been to many cons for several different things (comic con, gaming cons, Longaberger basket con, towing and recovery truck cons) and the basic concepts are all the same. I just like all the geeky references in books set during comic conventions.

YES YOU DO. God, you have no idea what you’re missing out on. I had someone on Instastory freaking out while she was reading ACOMAF and now I want to reread the whole trilogy. :’D

I loooove your answers! And I’m so sorry you had to deal with that with the one author… But on a happier note, isn’t that Starfall fanart so perfect? It makes me melt into a little puddle every time I see it. Brb while I go reread all of my favorite Feysand scenes again. ❤

It IISSS. SO MUCH. I had someone freaking out on Instastory last night while she was reading ACOMAF for the first time and now I seriously want to reread that thing..

Yes. Yes yes yes. I always want to reread ACOMAF. I AT LEAST always want to reread my favorite scenes. Like all of chapter 54. (No, not 55 – 54 is where the magic is. I mean, 55 is good, too, but 54. ❤ My precious bat baby.)

The whole thing. I need to reread the. whole. thing. I also decided that whenever I have a kid, one of the halloween costumes will be a Rhysand. Baby Rhysand. That has to be SO RIDICULOUSLY CUTE. [Seriously, do that with your kid this year. I need to see that.]

Oh my god. YES. It needs to happen! Could you imagine if you had triplets and dressed them all as Az, Cass, and Rhys? *ovaries exploding*

Oh my goodness I would not be able to handle that. THE CUTENESS ALONE.

I’m counting on you to show off a baby Rhysand next Halloween!

Ahhhhh this tag is so fun!!! I really love the idea and it’s so original! Anyway, your answers were fantastic and very relatable haha! Feyre and Rhys OWN MY HEART and ACOMAF is one of the best books I read last year! I was also incredibly surprised by Illuminae because the genre usually isn’t for me and the format of the book scared me off—but now I love it even more!

Yes; THEY SO DO. Honestly, if there’s a book I could read again for the first time, ACOMAF would be it! ❤
I had the same with Illuminae but I ended up loving it; although it was confusing at first, haha.

Loved your answers! I was surprised by Illuminae as well, as sci-fi books aren’t too into my comfort zone, either. Yet I really liked this one and couldn’t stop reading it!
I’m glad you quoted Queens of Geek twice, that book was so much fun, it deserves ALL the awards ahah 🙂

I honestly cannot wait for Obsidio to arrive. I’m hoping for way more AIDAN in that one since Gemina didn’t really deliver on that part.
Yes, definitely! That book was my crush, until Autoboyography came around.. Haha! 🙂
