Hi Munchworms!
With all those cold and dark days, my soul is starting to crave some cozy romances. Who am I to say no to that?
I got this book through LibraryThing an awful while ago, so when the mood struck I immediately picked it up!
Fall in the love with the magic of love via this contemporary romantic comedy with a dash of magical realism!
A delightful read for lovers of Jane Austen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Sarah Addison Allen
Chloe is a gifted matchmaker who can see when two people are meant to be, but is blind to her own soulmate. Ian is a love-scorned reporter intent on exposing her as a fraud.
When Ian goes undercover as Chloe’s newest client, he discovers there is much more to her than meets the eye. And they both discover Fate has quite the roller coaster ride in store for them in their quests to find true love… the kind that lasts a lifetime.
Although most romance novels are pretty straightforward and predictable from the start, this wasn’t the case with A Match Made by Chloe. It’s a thrilling, romantic and simply beautiful ride in which you get to know both MC’s, Ian and Chloe, a whole lot better.
I loved them both. Chloe because she blindly trusts her ability to recognize soulmates and do what it takes to get them together. Ian because he slowly but surely gets over his previous heartbreak while trying to come to terms with Chloe’s profession.
She was quite looking forward to being surrounded by the smell of ink on pages old and new.
Both characters were well-written. They had their unique voices and you could definitely put yourself in both perspectives while reading. Also, Jenna – Chloe’s best friend and roommate – is hilarious! The story itself is very fluent. Honestly, people, I read this book in one sitting. One. Freaking. Sitting. Yes, I went to sleep at 00.45 and had to get up for work 5.15 hours later.
I loved the small dash of magic that was added in this book. Being in the mood for a cozy romance, yet having that spark of magic… Honestly, it was just what I needed.
“I gotta say, it’s one hell of a coinkidink…” Jenna continued. “The two of you running into each other here of all places… after all this time.”
If there’s one thing that I can mention, it’s that the ending felt a bit rushed. I would’ve loved to have a little more romance, a little more closure.
“You get high off of love.” Chloe smiled. “Yeah, I guess I do.”
All in all it’s definitely a cozy, romantic read that you’ll finish in no time!
As for the munches… Pancakes because… Lara’s Pancake Bar! It was only mentioned briefly but I was craving pancakes all of a sudden so…
Yumm…pancakes. Also, this does sound like a fun and cute romance story. I would be okay picking it up if I wanted this kind of romance story.
