My [Diverse] December TBR!

Diverse December

Hi Munchworms!

I know, I know! My TBR is late! Sorry!

As you know, I’m going to focus on reading as much diverse books as possible during December. [Click here to find out all about Diverse December!] So, this means that my TBR is mostly… diverse, of course!

I also have a bunch of eARC’s and author requests that I have to get to. Yes, still. What do you mean, I have no self-restraint? Of course I do! … Okay, no. I don’t.

DIVERSE BOOKS

When Dimple Met RishiQueens of GeekThe Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Guide, #1)We Are Okay
Wonder Woman: Warbringer (DC Icons, #1)Forest of a Thousand Lanterns (Rise of the Empress, #1)A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1)The School for Good and Evil (The School for Good and Evil, #1)
The Fault in Our StarsThirteen Reasons WhyFlame in the Mist (Flame in the Mist, #1)The Library of Fates
Daughter of the Burning CityWicked Like a Wildfire (Hibiscus Daughter, #1)A Quiet Kind of Thunder

I’ll mainly try to read as many as possible of these, but I’ll try squeezing in some of the next ones as well, because… Yeah, I’m still behind. Struggles of a book blogger, I guess!

EARC’S / AUTHOR REQUESTS

Sweet Dreams Baby (Love at the Chocolate Shop #12)Almost Invincible (The White Knight & Black Valentine Series Book 3)Faking Friends
Swan SongThe Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1)If Only for a Time
The Fragile Thread of HopeJames: Witch-HunterContainment (Winter Solstice, #2)

I’m also going to see if there are some read-a-thons going on this month that I feel like doing! Pretty sure the Holiday Adventureathon is one of those already!
Just have to find one more book so I can set my TBR…

Any books on here that you want to read as well? Or have already read?
One I need to pick up right now? Like, right. NOW?

Oh, and anyone want to place a bet on how many books I’ll be reading during December?

Yep

    1. I know right?! I wanted to start with The Gentleman’s Guide but I’m using that one for a read-a-thon that only starts on December 13th, haha. I’ll just see what I’m in the mood for as soon as I read HoF’s part one!

  1. I’m working on my TBR and will have it posted soon. I have so many Diverse books on my TBR that I would love to get around to reading this month!

Great TBR! I’ve only Read Thirteen Reasons Why and The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice & Virtue, I really enjoyed them both. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue is one of my Favourite books I’ve read this year. I hope you enjoy it, too! I hope you’ll have an amazing reading month!

    1. Yay! I’m looking forward to it already, haha.
I know the feeling though. I simply tried to put as much of my diverse books on this TBR as possible. Pretty sure I might’ve missed a couple but plenty of options to pick from anyway.

Thank you! If I haven’t read The Gentleman’s Guide by the end of this month, I might just have to lock myself up until I have. I’ve been meaning to read that one for so long now that it’d be the biggest embarrassment ever if I don’t read it before 2018 starts, haha.
      Thank you! You too!

    1. So hold your own 24 Hour Readathon. Why not? I mean, I’d probably join in for some of it. I think I have D&D plans both weekends, but I should be able to read for a few hours or so. I’d probably just read a few comics or manga. Maybe one of my Diverse December reads if I could fit one in.

    2. It’s an idea I’m toying with, but I’m going to wait and see what plans pop up. There are always last minute things popping up, especially with the holidays so nearby, haha.
And I’d have to find something for my boyfriend to do for 24 hours. I’ve noticed it’s a lot easier to keep reading if I’m not all alone at home.

    3. I get it. We tend to have last minute stuff pop up all the time. See, my boyfriend would probably play video games or something. Or I could possibly get him to join me and he could read some of the manga I have bought for him/us.

    4. Well, that’s the thing! He has his computer, but he rarely stays on there for longer than three hours. And my mom and brother bought him an xbox for his birthday but he’s not opening that present until.. Like, December 22nd? I think? So unless I can convince them to give it sooner..

    1. Whoooop! Thank you!
Honestly, I’ve been looking forward to all those books for ages now so I’m hoping to get to as much of them as possible. We’ll see! First have to read the first part of Heir of Fire for a buddy read and then I can finally start one of the diverse books, haha.
Thank you! Hope you do too!

  3. I ended up really enjoying The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I hope you enjoy it, too! I thought When Dimple Met Rishi was cute, but ended up being a little disappointed in it because it was not as good as all the hype made it out to be.

    1. Good to know! I think out of all of these, The Gentleman’s Guide is the one I’m looking forward to most, haha.
I get what you mean. I’m always pretty wary of hyped books so if I can’t distance myself from the hype, I wait a while before actually reading the book – in hopes of the hype not influencing my expectations.

    1. Haha, you can simply make it that way!
I honestly do that a lot. “If I can keep this up, or do that today then I get to reward myself with a book.”
You might think that actually motivated me a lot but.. I have yet to find the magical motivation to get me on a cleaning spree..

    2. Nothing. Seriously, nothing helps to get my motivated for that! Not even the boyfriend saying “Then I’ll let you go on a book buying spree with my card.” Nope. All of a sudden I’ll be going “Meh. Got enough books to read as it is.”
The things cleaning can do to a brain.. Especially a bookworm brain! It makes no. sense.

  4. I really need to try and expand my diverse reads a bit more. I have a few on my TBR but haven’t had the chance to get to them yet (Flame in the Mist is one). There are a lot of diverse side characters in the novels I read, but I should read more MCs.

Good luck getting through your TBR!
