Hi Munchworms!
This post was supposed to go up a bit earlier today, but I was gone to Brussels all day for a teambuilding. Better late than never, right?
Anyway! I’m already claiming myself to be insane while writing this post. I’ll probably repeat the same thing a lot at the day of the read-a-thon itself, but…
I’m doing this! I’m going to try and read as much as I can in 24 hours during Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-thon!
Since everybody starts reading at the same time, it sounds like even more fun than just starting when it’s midnight in your timezone. I looked it up, and for me it starts Saturday, October 21st, at 14 pm. I’ll probably get some reading in before that, since I’m at home all weekend and was planning on reading as much as possible anyway.
But, bonus! I’ll get to lie in for once, especially since I’m home alone – whoop!
I won’t be setting myself a TBR for this, simply because I have tons of books to pick from and for a read-a-thon like this.. I’d rather go complete mood-reader. I’m sure you can agree, haha.
I will try to keep The House Cup Reading Challenge in mind though, since I have some challenges to fulfill for that one!
Just so you know, I’ll be posting updates on my Twitter – and maybe on my Insta-story as well! So if you want to check up on how I’m doing, there’s where you’ll find me.
Now, for my to do-list before the read-a-thon starts:
» Stock up on energy drinks – if you didn’t know yet, I love Monster – and water!
» Stock up on easily cooked food, snacks and fruit.
» Make sure the whole world knows not to bother me!
» Maybe take a shower before it starts so I can start.. fresh, haha.
» Have my quote-book, review-notebook and pen at the ready.
Any more things I should definitely do / think of? Are you joining in?! What’s on your TBR for this weekend?
Don’t forget to check out my post about Bookish cards if you still need some Christmas cards [maybe for the Christmas Card Exchange?!]!
I honestly love those cards so much, haha.
how’s it gooooooing?

I’m participating as well and it start at 2 pm for me, too. 🙂 I’m so excited to do this! I have not exactly a TBR, but more like a pile of books to choose from. BEcause I would totally just stare at my bookshelves for an hour straight trying to decide if I didn’t 😀
Hope you enjoy this readathon!

Yay! Same here. I just.. have all my books lying around everywhere and I’ll see what I read as I go. I just hope that I don’t get in a reading tornado and start picking up everything to read a couple of chapters and then switch to something else again. I had one of those once and it was horrible when I had to clear out my “currently reading” :’D
Have fun!! 😀

Oh ah, I had that one time, too. It took my ages to get from my 17 currently reading books down to three or so 😀

I did pretty good! I only added one more to my CR that’s just lying around right now, haha. Blaming it on John Green because I had the sudden urge to read Looking for Alaska instead of reading more in Because You Love To Hate Me. :’)

It’s my first time participating but I am excited! I don’t plan to read for the whole 24 hours (because I have a wedding reception to go to tomorrow night so I should probably sleep a little so I don’t crash and burn at a friends wedding!) but I do plan to read for basically the rest of the time!! I’ll be popping my updates on Litsy, Twitter and my Instastory too! 😀 Good luck Kathy 🙂

First time for me too! I was planning on doing the full 24 hours but I had such a bad night’s sleep that I’m sure I won’t be able to stick it out, haha. I’ll try my best.
You’re totally right that you should get some sleep for that! Hope you have a fun time reading ànd at the wedding! 🙂

This sounds super fun! I haven’t gotten a chance to participate in Dewey’s yet and I’m busy tomorrow, so hopefully I can do the next one! I love that it starts at the same time as well though. I think it’s 5 am for me. 😉

I’m lucky that my boyfriend’s out for the weekend; otherwise, this wouldn’t be happening either, haha. I can read with him around, but he does distract me every hour or so and that’s annoying if you want to.. just.. read.. :’)

Hahaha nice! I totally understand. 😉

Woohoo! Enjoy the read-a-thon!!📚 I like the idea of having a quote book as you read….I’ve never thought of that before!

Definitely a fun thing to do! Especially if you ever just want a quote for something and you already have your little book of favorite quotes. 🙂

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get caffeine and snacks. I am adding those to my shopping list now.
Happy reading!

I think most of my day is now going to be busy with D&D and cleaning up the apartment, but hopefully I can still squeeze in a couple books.

As long as you’re having fun.. 🙂 And as people keep telling me, you can always listen to an audiobook while cleaning! [Which is totally not my thing because for some reason I can’t focus on it whatsoever.]

Well, my boyfriend and I will be cleaning together so we’ll probably be talking. Most likely we’ll play music in the background. Now, if everything goes well, D&D will go from like 2pm until around 10pm or so, and then I can just caffeinate and read for 4 hours or so before I go to bed.
