Hi Munchworms!
This week’s topic for The Broke and the Bookish‘s Top Ten Tuesday is “Yummy Foods Mentioned In Books”, but I’ve changed it up a bit!
I think you guys can imagine the laughter that erupted when I discovered this TTT-subject. If there’s one thing I do all the time, it’s linking food to books.
So, of course, I decided to change this up a bit!
Instead of looking for yummy foods that are mentioned in the books, I’m going to go with the yummiest dishes I ate that I linked to novels so far.
I admit, sometimes it was a dish mentioned in a book, but not always!
If you haven’t sign up yet, time to do so: Remember November!
And don’t forget about the Christmas Card Exchange, guys!
Kathy
What a great idea! And now you’ve got me drooling and wishing I could reach into those pictures and share in some of that food. Yum! Thank you for sharing! I hope you have a great week.

Your posts always make me want to eat something delicious. And I’m not even hungry right now after having a large helping of macaroni and cheese.

Macaroni and cheese does sound good to me right now! [Even though it’s 7.30 in the morning..]

Haha, same here. Since I always link my reviews to a dish, it’s fun to see what other people come up with for today’s TTT. 🙂

This is a great idea! I struggled with this week’s topic, but I love your take on it. And those milkshakes look soooo good!

Thank you!
When I saw this week’s topic, I seriously had to laugh, haha. Since I try to link food to books as often as possible, I had fun looking back on them and seeing what dishes I used.
Those milkshakes really were delicious! Sugar all the way, but so good!

I am 100% on board with sugar. And they definitely look worth it!

Those MilkShakes look amazing. I cannot find anywhere that makes them like this near me. 😦

I honestly know of only one place where to get them in the city I live. I know there should be more, but I haven’t found those yet.. Looking up “freakshakes” could help? Since that’s the term they use for them, haha.

Warcross’ dish is by far my favorite! But that’s probably because I went way out of my comfort zone with that one and ended up loving it. 🙂

OMG What is that ?! You didn’t find these yummies in Belgium surely? I don’t know what that is next to What To Say Next but I want it :-). I have that novel as well so I hope to read it soon.. I’ll be thinking of your strawberry drink or whatever when I read it!

The freakshake, nacho’s and hot chocolate are from Ghent! The dish with Warcross [I’ve forgotten the name, oops..] is something we ate during our road trip. I think we were in Bordeaux at that point?
The Harry Potter goodies are from.. all over, haha. Then another Ghent freakshake, homemade burger and Ghent chocolate fondue!
Soooo, Ghent all the way! 😀
Haha, do that! It really was yum. 😀

Freakshake? Figures 🙂 Oh I really should go to Ghent some time… this city sounds better and better, not only cool bookstores but also amazing looking shakes.

There’s only one place I know where they have them; so if you ever plan to go to Ghent, I’ll be happy to send you the address! 🙂

I love this idea! Your dishes match us so well with the books.I particularly want that egg sandwich thing.
BTW: Where did the munches come from in your blog title. I am wondering because that is my last name and I actually considered Books and Munch as my blog title when I was in the brainstorming stage.

Haha, thank you!
I honestly had a whole list of possible blog names when I was brainstorming, but I went with Books & Munches because those are both things I’m passionate about. I love books; and I love food / cooking / baking / eating. “Books & Food” sounded.. too serious? So I went with Munches instead, haha.

Awww! “What to Say Next” is so cute. I really enjoyed that one, and am eager to read Julie’s debut YA soon after discovering her as a new-to-me-author earlier this year. 🙂

I take it you’re talking about Tell Me Three Things? I recently read the blurb for that one and think I might just pick it up sometime!
